Sultan + Shepard Ignite Dancefloors with 'Start Again' from New Project

Sultan + Shepard: The Beginnings of 'Life Will Break Your Heart'

Sultan + Shepard, the Canadian duo that's been effortlessly fusing melodic house and progressive vibes since the early 2000s, is a name you either cherish for its consistency or perhaps don't know enough about — yet. The pair, made up of Ossama Al Sarraf (Sultan) and Ned Shepard, have been laying down euphoric sets for well over two decades, each tune seeming to perfectly capture the balance of banging beats and blissed-out moods. The latest gem from their ongoing opus, 'Start Again,' is a testament to their continued relevance in a scene that morphs faster than the seasons.

The Masters of Melodic Evolution

There's little question that Sultan + Shepard have mastered the art of evolution. From their debut on John Digweed's Bedrock Records to remixing for big-name pop acts like Coldplay and Ed Sheeran, these two have done it all. Yet, with every beat and melody they drop, there's a freshness that never feels forced or gimmicky — they simply work the dancefloor dynamics like the seasoned pros they are. 'Start Again,' the opening salvo of their 'Life Will Break Your Heart' project, is another vibrant chapter in their story.

'Start Again': A Fresh Canvas

'Start Again' rings out like a clarion call to dust off those festival shoes and dive back into the pulsating crowd. Released as the lead single off their forthcoming project, it strikes a fine-tuned balance between introspection and timeless dancefloor funk. This isn't your run-of-the-mill house track. Rather, it's a journey — the kind some of us in the scene crave like an afterhours bacon sarnie.

Collaboration and Curation

• Early Collaborations: Sultan + Shepard's collaborative efforts with industry behemoths like Tiësto and David Guetta have never been just about name-dropping. They bring an authentic twist that enhances rather than shadows.

• A Blend of Influences: From Montréal's after-hours clubs to mainstages worldwide, their sound reflects a confluence of experiences, both gritty and glamorous.

A Decade with Depth

Ten years into shaping and reshaping the audio landscape, Sultan + Shepard are practically gallerists of sound, showcasing the full spectrum from uplifting highs to profound depths. 'Life Will Break Your Heart' might sound like a downer if you judge by its title alone, but the underlying theme promises something more optimistic — a rebirth through rhythm, a renewal through narrative. They're keenly aware that life hammers away at us all, and these tunes are their artistic response.

The Sultan + Shepard Signature

They execute this by weaving nostalgia into the fabric of new, evolutionary sounds. It's precise. It's intentional. It gets the nod from those who have trodden similar paths long ago. They're architects of an ever-evolving sonic cityscape, but hardly ones locked in nostalgia. Their affection for the craft and the community is evident, paying homage to the past while keeping their sights fixed firmly forward.

Conclusion: Against the Current, with the Current

This is a moment where the music speaks loudly, clearly, and yet leaves space for contemplation. Not everyone's into melodic house, sure, but with 'Start Again,' Sultan + Shepard bridge the gap effectively between energetic sensibilities and emotive resonance. It's less about reinventing the wheel and more about redefining what it means to roll along with it.

Get into 'Start Again,' and let it guide you to the pulse of the scene. You'll find its rhythm both familiar and newly thrilling — a soundtrack that's as much about moving on as it is about starting afresh.
